What Clients Experience
01
ACCEPTANCE.
IT STARTS WITH OUR MARKETING, CONTINUES WITH A CONSULTATION AND THE SESSION, AND MOVES BEYOND THE REVEAL AND IMAGES.
CLIENTS WHO FEEL ACCEPTANCE FROM US, AND HAVE SPACE TO MOVE TOWARDS SELF ACCEPTANCE TOO.
02
AGENCY.
YES, WE'RE THE GUIDES ON THIS EXPERIENCE, BUT CLIENTS ARE ULTIMATELY IN CONTROL OF THEIR BODIES, THE POSING, HOW THEY WANT TO BE SEEN AND THE CONSENT THEY FREELY AND INFORMLY GIVE.
THEIR COMFORT AND SAFETY ARE PRIORITY.
03
SUPPORT.
CLIENTS MIGHT NOT FEEL SUPPORTED IN WHO THEY ARE OR HOW THEY FEEL IN THEIR DAILY EXPERIENCES.
WE CAN OFFER A SPACE OF NON - JUDGEMENT FOR CLIENTS TO EXPLORE THEIR IDENTITIES, EMOTIONS, BODY CONNECTIONS AND MORE.
04
MORE.
IT'S DIFFERENT FOR EVERY CLIENT, BUT PHOTOTHERAPY MAKES SPACE FOR GROWTH, EASE, JOY, PRESENCE, EMBODIMENT, EMPOWERMENT, HEALING, ADVENTURE,AND A RANGE OF EMOTIONS AND STATES THAT COME FROM BEING SEEN.

Questions
Other than the obvious, online gives the space (that is, the time) between information to reflect and think about things before moving on to the next thing. The online format also allows for take-home activities to try out what we've gone over in the weekly lesson; this means we can come together the next week and share, ask questions, get clarification etc. in an ongoing way while we learn more stuff.

In person workshops have the benefit of a real-time live demonstration of how to put all this together, with an actual client who has benefited from ongoing photothearpy sessions. We don't have that in an online format, but for finishing the online course you get an alumni discount on the next in person workshop.
ASKED
HOW IS THIS DIFFERENT FROM IN PERSON ?
The short answer is no. Working in Trauma Sensitivity is something that any type of business or creative who works with other humans as clients can benefit from. There's something for anyone here. Stretching your edges in a conscious way is a pathway to growth. To be able to hold space for our clients, it's good practice to be on the other side of that experience and understand how to create that space.
DO I HAVE TO BE A PHOTOGRAPER?
WILL THIS CERTIFY ME IN THERAPY?
No. This isn't a certification course. This won't make you a therapist or mental
health professional. Unless you're already a licensed pro in this area, you won't be at the end of this workshop. There are always situations we should refer to someone else who is a pro.

What you will be, is more informed on the topic and able to integrate a mindset, techniques, and new way of interacting with clients that keeps within the boundaries of what, as photographers or non-therapists, can legally and helpfully be practiced.

Who Am I?
VISUAL STORYTELLER
I THINK EXCLUSIVELY IN PICTURES. I RELATE TO THE WORLD AND OTHERS THROUGH WHAT I SEE, HOW I SEE IT, AND MY GOAL WITH MY WORK IS TO OFFER A NEW PERSPECTIVE, TO HELP TELL A PART OF SOMEONE'S STORY THE WAY THEY WANT IT TOLD.
MY OWN STORY IS ONLY PARTWAY THROUGH.
BODY IMAGE ADVOCATE
MY JOY IS PHOTOTHERAPY. I'VE STRUGGLED WITH MY OWN BODY IMAGE AND UNDERSTAND GETTING IN FRONT OF THE CAMERA CAN BE CHALLENGING.
I HAVE A THERAPY BACKGROUND IN MIND-BODY AND AM A CERTIFIED BODY IMAGE BOOTCAMP FACILITATOR.
HUMAN
LIFE ISN'T ABOUT PERFECTION AND NEITHER IS THE BODY, OR ART. WE TRY THINGS, WE PLAY, WE HAVE AN EXPERIENCE AND AN ADVENTURE WHILE WE DO IT.
I WANT AS MANY PHOTOGRAPHERS AS POSSIBLE TO BE ABLE AND COMFROTABLE HOLDING THIS TYPE OF SPACE FOR AS MANY CLIENTS AS POSSIBLE.
